The two tracks

Documentation or research

Both tracks give access to the Institute's library. The difference is in the purpose of the internship, the workspace provided, and what is expected by the end of it.

TRACK A

Documentation Internship

The intern has access to the documents available in the library of the Institute. This internship is not for the purpose of writing a study.

Priority is given to candidates from countries where access to documents on international and European human rights law is difficult to obtain.

TRACK B

Research Internship

The intern benefits from library access as well as a dedicated workspace (desk with computer). The purpose is to write a study as part of a collective, or possibly independent, research project under the supervision of Institute staff. Work meeting academic standards of quality is published on the Institute's website, in a review, or in a book (GIDD collection).

Selection is based on the quality of the application and résumé.
