Geneva Institute for Democracy and Development (GIDD) is an independent international institute dedicated to research into peace, democracy, human rights and socio-economic problems. Established in 2004 in Geneva, GIDD provides data, analysis and recommendations, based on open sources, to policymakers, researchers, media and the interested public.
At GIDD, we believe that democracy is the foundation of a free and just society. It is the cornerstone of peace and prosperity and it is essential for the protection of human rights and the rule of law. We also believe that democracy is a dynamic and evolving process that requires constant attention and support.
